Kansas Immigration Performance Assessment

 

 

 

The Kansas Historical Society has asked you to help fourth graders gain an understanding of significant groups of people in the history of Kansas. Knowing whom the immigrants were and be able to compare and contrast reasons for immigrating to Kansas is important!

 

You will need to choose one of the groups of people we learned about in class. Apply your new understanding to an informational table that will be combined with other groups to compare and contrast the reasons for each group settling in Kansas.  Your table must include the following information:

 

 

·        Where did your group of people come from?

 

·        Summarize why they came (geographic, political, economic, and religious) to Kansas.

 

·        How does this groups’ reasons compare to other groups that came to Kansas?

 

 

You must also write expository paragraphs that compare and contrast reasons that brought settlers to Kansas.

 

You are required to include at least one graphic of your choice and cite all sources used for research.

 

Your project will be scored on the attached rubric. Please refer to it often while working on your project.
