Scooby Doo, Where Are You?

Performance Task:

Scooby Doo has sailed many times as the ship’s dog on voyages to all of the American colonies. Many passengers (and their pets -German Shepards, Irish setters, Scottish terriers, French poodles, English bulldog, Welch corky, Swiss St. Bernard) ask for advice. Scooby is getting tired of retelling the same story over and over. He would like you to create a persuasive presentation that he could share with travelers whenever they ask. Based on the information you have collected in your graphic and analytic organizers, prepare persuasive materials that provide the pros and cons of settling in the New England, the Middle, or the Southern Colonies. Be sure to include details about the pros and cons of each region. Your materials should be accurate, informative, and concise.

Directions:

1. Read carefully the Scooby Doo rubric.

2. You and your partner need to decide how you will present your persuasive information to help out Scooby Doo. Please select from the following choices:

3. You will be given 3 class periods to prepare your persuasive information. The fourth class period will be designated for presentation practice.
