Cheney Elementary Student Collect Money for Greensburg

	The CES Student Council started a fund raiser to give money to the Greensburg schools after the tornado destroyed their buildings and community last spring. Students and staff were asked to bring coins or extra change as a contribution and in all we raised $577.02.
On August 22, the three Student Council officers, Laurie Thisius, the Student Council Sponsor, and Mr. Rumford went to the “Greensburg Back to School Day” to deliver the money.
	The students were able to go in front of the crowd to give the donation and even got to meet Governor Sebelius afterward. We also toured the town to see the destruction and the rebuilding effort. It was an amazing site.
Thank you to all students and families who contributed. The Greensburg administration was overwhelmed with the efforts and the support for their project.
