Purpose of the lesson:    

summarize/paraphrase an article for a presentation

refer to source in a smooth, professional manner

organize body info in a logical, yet smooth manner

incorporate visual aid use if possible

Directions:

·          use the KanEd sites, Readers’ Guide, or a news-type web site to brainstorm for topics if necessary

·          pick a topic

o         do not pick editorials

o         do not pick a topic the class has already heard about in CE #1 & #2 speech

o         must have TWO sources for the purposes of this assignment (you must refer to both of them in the speech)

o         magazines, newspapers, online magazines and news sites are appropriate sources for this assignment

·          once notes are taken, plan a informative speech in which you present the info presented in the article

Evaluation Explanation

The 0-1-2 scale refers to how  well you do on a scale of zero to two. The 0-1 scale means you either had the info or you didn’t.
