How to Make the Graphic Moveable

  • some pictures will allow you to move the picture if you do the following to the picture once you’ve imported it
    • double-click on the picture
      • the format picture window pops up
      • click on the layout tab
        • the first item is the wrapping style
        • choose the last choice, it says in front of text
          • the picture will have anchors on it, one will be green so it can be rotated

How to Put a Border Around a Graphic

  • do it the same way you do a normal text box
    • go to the heading: “How do I change the line color or thickness or border of a text box?

What if I Can’t Make the Graphic Move?

  • put the graphic/picture inside a text box
    • draw the text box and be sure the cursor is in the text box before you insert the item
    • once it’s inserted, you can move the text box around the page and the picture goes with it
    • to resize the picture, you’ll still have to select the picture itself and its original anchors
    • manipulate colors and borders just like would a text box

 

How do I Rotate the Picture Horizontally?

  • on the drawing toolbar, click on the pull down arrow
    • go to rotate or flip
    • choose flip horizontally

What if I Can Not Choose Flip Horizontally in WORD? (some pics you can’t)

  • go to a program called Microsoft Publisher
  • to find that, go to state, programs, Microsoft Office just like you do to pull up WORD, only you’ll select Publisher
    • click a blank document (you can close the sidebars)
    • copy and past the graphic from WORD into Publisher
    • while in Publisher, click on the pull down menu called Arrange
      • choose rotate or flip
      • flip horizontally
      • copy and paste that back into WORD
        • be sure you have an empty text box with the cursor in it so the WORD document is ready for the flipped graphic
