Before typing
anything... |

· go to the format pull down menu |
|||
|
o paragraph |

§ indents & spacing (it’s the 1st tab) |

under spacing
section, set document to double space |

indentations section, set hanging indent |

to the right of
that, where it says by, it should automatically change to .5

When to Type in the Information |

|

put
your works cited slips in ABC order by the first word listed on the
form |
|||
|

|||

·
type in
all the entries first in Arial 12 |
|||
|
|
|||
|
·
hit enter
at the end of an entry for the cursor to move to the far left margin o
when your entry
takes up more than one line, the next line will automatically indent; this is
correct o

move cursor up above it to the blank line o
type in Works
Cited and then center Works Cited (do not center the entire document) o the spacing should all be correct then—there should not be extra double-spacing between the title of the page and the entries themselves |

the
entries should be in ABC order o
if they are not,
you need to cut & paste §
or copy &
paste in case the spacing gets messed up—then at least you still have the
original way it was typed in then go & delete the one copied once you
have it in the correct spot ·
double
check that everything is double-spaced |
