Final Research Project

Over all of the Cultures

Research project Page

]     You are going to look at several different resources to compare and contrast one feature of two cultures you have studies in Social Studies this year.  The first thing you need to do is to decide what feature you want to compare/contrast.  For example, you could choose types of food, clothing, writing, religious beliefs, occupations, government or mythology for the two cultures.  There are many other choices as well.  Once you choose the feature to be researched, you need to turn that topic into a question.  An example research question over food could be, “What types of foods do Americans and the British eat?”

]     The final project will be a short research essay explaining how the two are different and alike.  Use this plan page.

]     Resources: You need at least two different resources.  Use books from the library or in the classroom, magazines, and online resources.  Use SIRS Discoverer for your online sources.  Here is a link to the Kan-ed login page.

]     After you have written the essay, you will find photos on the Internet showing examples of the feature you chose to compare/contrast.  You will make a powerpoint to be shared with the class.
