SPAGHETTI BRIDGE BUILDING RULES
I.	The bridge must be built according to the bridge building code, using only materials purchased from the Bridges R Us Steel Company.
II.	Prior to construction, each construction company must obtain a “construction permit” from the Department of Transportation.
III.	After several planning sessions, each construction company must submit an itemized “construction bid” on the correct form, detailing the costs expected before and during construction. There will be penalties and rewards depending upon whether the company finishes ahead of or behind schedule, and whether or not the company stays within their bid amount.
IV.	The bridge will be evaluated according to the full set of criteria set forth in the “evaluation” document, including but not limited to ... 1. Design & Plans (neatness, accuracy of plans, design, economy & profit) 2. Records (GM’s notebook, group cooperation) & (Accountant’s neatness & financial records) 3. Special Questions
V.	Judging of the bridge strength: Your teacher will carefully suspend weights from the loading platform by adding BB’s to the weight tray hanging from the platform. The last weight that the bridge holds for 30 seconds is the weight recorded as the strength of the bridge. The bridge will be considered to be broken when the weight tray touches the canyon floor. Your teacher will make final judgments.
