  • The students will compare and contrast the lives of the sedentary and nomadic tribes of the Great Plains.
  • The students will describe and illustrate the important vocabulary terms relating to Plains Indians
  • The students will identify the distinguishing characteristics of the different tribes of the Plains Indians

  • The students will describe the initial reactions of American Explorers on KS.
  • The students will conclude why Native Americans were moved to the land of KS.
  • The students will identify the concept of Manifest Destiny and how it led to westward expansion
  • The students will analyze the cause and effect of the Indian Removal Act
  • The students will compare and contrast the Oregon-California and Santa Fe Trails and their effect on KS.
