Unit Objectives:

·        The students will look at the early presidencies of the newly formed United States and some of the major events that occurred during that time.

·        The students will recognize the concept of Manifest Destiny and how this belief helped to acquire the land that is present day Untied States, and the effects the belief had on the Native Americans.

·        The students will study how the nation started to split apart socially, economically, and industrially.
