PALS Meeting

August 26, 2008

Minutes

The meeting was called to order by President, Sheila McGuire.

Reports

Secretary Report: The minutes were read by Ann Sigwing. Sara Simmons made a motion to approve the minutes and Jolene Inskeep seconded the motion.

Treasurer Report: Report was read by Lora Quick. Our Balance Forward was $21,273.64 and our ending balance was $11,605.11. Michelle Krueger made a motion to approve the treasurer's report and Lori Johnson seconded the motion.

Old Business

Committees – Main Positions have been filled but we are in need of a few other volunteers.

Added volunteers - Social Committee – Michelle Krueger and Becca Burdick

Ways & Means – Rhonda Fletcher

Teacher Angels/Locker Angels – Continue as last year by doing them at the end of every 9 weeks.

Volunteers

Kindergarten – Crystal Jackson, Rhonda Fletcher, Denise Eastman

1^st – Jolene Inskeep, Michelle Krueger, Carla Hibbs, Lori Johnson

Teacher Helper – Teacher Liason Committee will take on this task.

Playground – Doug Veith mentioned that It's Out There!! Doug thanked everyone that helped. Jamie Rumford thanked the Veith family for all their hard work. The playground committee will have a meeting at a later date.

Movie Night – Molly Amsink is now in charge of the movie nights. The 1st one of the year will take place Saturday, September 27 @ 6:30 in the Multipurpose Room. Showing Speed Racer. Bouncers or Mean Husbands needed!! Movie License needs to be renewed in Jan/Feb.

New Business

Gatorade Scrimmage – Friday, August 29, 4:30-7:30. PALS will sell popcorn. Volunteers needed, Sheila will email volunteers with setup time.

T-shirts – Ann Sigwing brought up ideas. Ann will get a quote and it will be discussed at the next meeting. Money raised from the sales will go toward Future Playground Equipment.

Room Parents – Lori Johnson & Rene' Dunn are in charge of Room Parents. The lists are done, Room Parent meeting will be Tuesday, September 9 @ 6:00.

School Directories – Jolene Inskeep will be in charge of getting the directories put together. She will add a classroom list with Room Parents and their phone #'s.

Website – Tyann Weiderstein will get PALS information together and get it to Rex Casner to be updated monthly. Minutes, Movie nights, Next meeting, and description of what PALS does will be available.

Box Tops - $658.00 was brought in last year. Classroom contest will continue. Jolene Inskeep will be sending a note home soon.

2 Hour Power – Information sheet will go home with students to have parents sign up. We will be having a classroom contest again. Parents please sign in in the workroom.

Next PALS Meeting – Tuesday, September 23 @ 6:30

Other Questions – Before School assembly discussed. Lora Quick brought up script cards, Sheila McGuire explained this further and said that we will discuss this at a future meeting.

Committee officers and chair heads were introduced.

Lora Quick made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ann Sigwing seconded the motion.
