September 23, 2008
Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President,
Sheila McGuire.
Reports
Secretary Report:
The minutes were read by Diane Rich. Denise Eastman made a motion to approve
the minutes and Stacey Harrison seconded the motion.
Treasurer Report:
Report was read by Lora Quick. Our Balance Forward was $11,605.11 and our
ending balance was $11,627.31. Lora stated that $4,968.32 of the funds in our
account were earmarked for use on future Playground
equipment. Our Unrestricted Funds (or funds that we are able to use) are
$6,658.99. Lori Johnson made a motion to approve the treasurer's report and Jolene
Inskeep seconded the motion.

Hour Power Report: Mrs. Hague's 1st grade is in 1st place with Mrs. Custer,
Mrs. Thisius, and Mrs. Arnold very closely behind
her.
Old
Business
Gatorade Scrimmage:
The scrimmage took place on Friday, August 29. Sheila said Thanks to all those
that came out and helped. She mentioned that it was slow at first but went well
over all. Sheila mentioned that we might consider selling candy next year
because no one had candy available for the kids.
Room Parent Meeting/Party lists: Rene' Dunn & Lori Johnson stated that the meeting went
well. Party lists have been sent home. Questions were brought up about exactly
what a room parent's job is.
Movie Night: Will
take place this Saturday at 6:30. Showing Speed Racer in the
Multipurpose Room.
T-shirts: Ann Sigwing discussed that she was not happy with any of the
designs that were given to her so she will be designing her own design for our
t-shirts. She is trying to get the ball rolling so that we can sell them before
the holidays, possibly even during Come Home for Christmas. Ideas were brought
up about where else they could be sold, possibly at open house or at other
events. Questions were asked about how many to orderwe
still have approximately 20 left of the old ones.
Diane Rich will research to see how many were ordered last time and when they
were ordered.
Locker Angels:
Sheila stated that she had asked Andra Jarmer to help 2nd grade and Bonnie Young offered to help
in 4th grade. She also stressed the importance of making sure that every
student receives a locker angel.
Directories: Lori
Johnson and Jolene Inskeep will get the directories
to Margaret Terrell as soon as possible to be placed in the office for sale for
$1.00. Remarks were made that this maybe needs to be part of the Teacher
liaison's job description since they are already working with addresses and
phone numbers for the Room Parents lists. Jolene was also asked to bring the
directories to future PALS meetings so that parents could purchase them there.
Website: Tyann Weiderstein has gotten the
info together and the website is in the process of being updated. The website
will consist of upcoming events, meeting dates, meeting minutes, officers names and numbers, and teacher gift ideas. If there
is any other information that you would like available, please let Tyann or Sheila know. Discussion was brought up to make
t-shirts available on the website. Will be discussed at a
future date.

Teacher
Angels: Sheila
talked about the job requirements of the person in charge of Teacher Angels and
asked for volunteers. Jennifer Campbell said that she would be interested in
taking on this task. Her first day to provide something for the teacher is
Monday, August 29. Sheila McGuire, Wendee Olmstead,
and Stacey Harrison volunteered to help.

Tuesday, October 21 at 6:30
Other Questions:
Michelle Krueger asked if we do anything for Retired Volunteers that help at
the schoolit was mentioned that each individual
teacher does this on their own, but maybe this is something we should think
about. Possibly National Volunteers Week?? Will be discussed at a future date.

made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Wendee Olmstead
seconded the motion.
