Creating a Shortcut Icon on Your Desktop

For programs that you use often, you may want to create a shortcut icon on your desktop.  When you turn on your computer, you can simply double-click on the icon and the program will open rather than having to go to start and all programs each time.

Step One:

Click on “Start” at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen

Step Two:

Highlight “All Programs”

Step Three:

Highlight the program you wish to create the shortcut for

(The example shows how to create the shortcut for Internet Explorer)
