Computer Use and Management Guidelines -Draft
Maintenance
- Use a
power strip on all computers.
- Run
ScanDisk on your computer at least monthly.
- Update
your anti-virus software monthly.
- All
computers and monitors will be shut down each night.
Software Purchase and Use
- All
software will be reviewed before purchase.
- All
licenses will be kept in the district office.
- Software
purchased with building funds should be added to the library catalog so
that others are aware it is available.
- Unauthorized
copying of software is in violation of federal law and district policy.
- Software
will not be installed on any workstation without the permission and/or
presence of a Technical Support Staff member.
- Personal
software will not be installed on district workstations without consent
from the Technical Support Staff.
- No
additional games or screen savers will be installed on district computers.
- Any
disk brought from home will be scanned for viruses before use.
Internet Use
- Email
and Internet use will be used for professional purposes only.
- Caution
must be used when opening attachments from people you do not know as they
are the primary source of viruses
- Students
will not use credit cards with any online service.
- Students
and parents (if students are under 18) will be requested to sign the
Internet Use Policy.
- All
staff will sign the Internet Use Policy.
