Synchronizing Files

• Go to My Computer and then your X:\ drive
• Select Make a New Folder
• Name it Sync (or whatever you want to call it)
• Right click on Sync
• Click Make Available Offline
• Click Next
• Check the box Automatically synchronize the Offline Files when I log on or log off my computer
• Click Next

If you want reminders that you are not online, check the Enable Reminders (probably not) If you want a shortcut to your Sync folder, check the second box. (probably) Click Finish

Drag the files you want to work on at home to the Sync folder When you are home, go to My Computer and the X:\ drive. You should find your files in the Sync folder (the rest of the folders will be empty). When you log on at school, the files should automatically save back your real X:\ drive. When you are finished editing the file, you need to delete it from the Offline file on your laptop and move it out of the Sync file on your X: drive.
