To Save Graphics From the Internet
Option 1
- Right
click on the graphic
- Select
Save Picture As
- Click
the Save In drop down arrow to select the location to save the
graphic. It is good to save to the
Trash directory or to a floppy disk.
- Click Save
- Be
sure to note the URL (web address) and file name of the graphic for your
Works Cited. You can find the name
of the graphic by right clicking and selecting Properties. The name will be listed at the top.
To insert graphics that you have
saved with this option, open the program, Insert Þ Picture Þ From
File and then select the graphic from the floppy disk or the Trash
folder. Be sure to include the file
name and then include it in your Works Cited.
Option 2
- Open Word
or any word processor
- Switch
to Internet Explorer (IE)
- Right
click on the graphic
- Select
Copy
- Switch
to Word
- Edit
Þ
Paste or Ctrl V
- Switch
to IE
- Click
in the Address box and highlight the URL
- Ctrl
C
- Switch
to Word
- Click
beneath your graphic
- Ctrl
V
- In IE,
you can find the name of the graphic by right clicking and selecting Properties. The name will be listed at the
top. Add the name to your Word
document.
- Repeat
for all graphics
To insert graphics that you have saved with this option,
open your Word file. Click on the graphic
you want and Edit Þ
Copy or Ctrl C. Open
your new file and put your cursor where you want the graphic to appear. Edit Þ Paste or Ctrl V. Be sure to include the file name and then
include it in your Works Cited.
