Student Directions:
Students will be given one of the following scenarios:

1. You are a personal trainer. Your job is to design and organize a fitness plan for your client.

2. You are a client at a fitness center who is in need of a fitness plan.

The two of you will work together to create a fitness plan that will include:
*a work out schedule with the kind of workout and number of days for the workout.
*a log of the client's diet and make suggestions for how to include the 5 food groups for more healthy eating.
*a log of sleep habits and make suggestions for better sleep habits.
*a log of activities (TV, videogames, etc.) and make suggestions for healthier activities.

Stage 3: Plan Learning Experiences and Instruction

Discuss fitness topics and get kids thinking about what their current habits are.

The students will make an outline of their bodies on white butcher paper. Each student can decorate the outline to resemble themselves. This outline will be sent to a person of the same age (or close to) from another town. A diary will be used to keep track of the level/amount of exercise and healthy activities for one week.

*Students will have a journal to write reactions on the "travel" of their paper person and the amount of physical activity encountered. Students will also be able to write a physica
l fitness plan to improve the level of activity, if needed.
