Stage 1: Identify Desired Results

All life is effected by seasonal change.
The seasons can cause difficulties for people and animals.

 

 

Essential Questions:

1.         Can you name the four seasons?

2.         Can you describe the four seasons?

         3.      How do the four seasons affect your everyday life?

 

 

Knowledge and Skills:

K: Students will know:  gain knowledge about the four seasons.

 

 

S: Students will be able to:  name the four seasons and give a

characteristic of each season.

 

 

Stage 2: Determine Acceptable Evidence

 

Assessment Summary: Draw pictures of a particular season and present to the class.

Student Directions: The student will fold a piece of paper into fourths and draw and label a picture of each season.

 

Rubric: The student will identify a picture of each season and name a

characteristic of each.

 

Other assessment evidence to be collected:

Write in your journal and illustrate about your favorite season.

Design a wall mural of the four seasons.

The student will act out an activity for each season.

 

 

Stage 3: Plan Learning Experiences and Instruction

 

Learning Activities: What sequence of teaching and learning experiences will be used? 

         1.    Hook Have a resource person dress in appropriate clothes for each

season.  Ask each student to name their favorite clothing of the season and graph the data.

2.    Overview and Expectation: The student will become more knowledgeable of the four seasons and how it affects his/her life.
