Eligibility Guidelines

KSHSAA

 To be eligible for participation in Kansas State High School Activities Association sponsored activities a student must:
  • have passed at least five new subjects (those not previously passed) during the previous semester or the last semester of attendance;
  • be enrolled and attending a minimum of five subjects during the present semester;
  • be a bonafide student in good standing;
  • have a KSHSAA physical examination on file prior to the first practice
  • refrain from engaging in outside competition in the same sport during a season in which he/she is representing the school.
NJCCA The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is committed to providing quality athletic opportunities to enhance the entire collegiate learning experience or its students.  The Association and its member colleges strive to provide equal opportunities for all concerned student-athletes.  The Association is sensitive to the special needs and circumstances of the Community/Junior College student while keeping within the high academic standards of our 510 member institutions.
NCAA  All high-school athletes wanting to compete in college level sports must register with the NCAA's Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse.  More information about NCAA Clearinghouse and eligibility requirements can be found through the link at the left.
NAIA

Article V, Section C, items 1 and 2 of the NAIA Bylaws

  1. An entering freshman student must be a graduate of an accredited high school or be accepted as a regular student in good standing as defined by the enrolling institution

  2. An entering freshman student must meet two of the three entry level requirements:
    1. A minimum score of 18 on the Enhanced ACT or 860 on the SAT (for tests taken on or after April 1, 1995).
       

    NOTE: In order to meet the requirement of Article V, Section C, item 2, paragraph a above, an entering freshman taking the SAT as of March 1, 2005 must achieve a score of 860 or higher on the Critical Reading and Math sections.

    1. An overall high school grade point average of 2.000 or higher on a 4.000 scale.
       
    2. Graduate in the upper half of the student's high school graduating class.
