Creating a Venn Diagram
· Open Word
·
If the Draw Toolbar
is not available, right click on a blank area of the toolbar at the top and select
Drawing
·
Click on the oval
icon on the Drawing Toolbar. ![]()
·
Click where you want
the first circle and drag the mouse down and to the right.
If
you hold the Shift key down while dragging, it will stay a circle.
·
Once you have the
circle the size you want it, click on the circle so that the picture handles
appear.
·
Use Ctrl C to copy
and Ctrl V to paste.
·
Move the new circle
to the right so it overlaps the first pictures.
·
Click on the right
hand circle.
·
Click drop down
arrow to the right of the Paint Bucket icon.

Select No Fill so
that the lines on both circles appear.
·
Click the Text Box icon on the Drawing Toolbar. ![]()
·
Click at the top of
the left circle and add a label.
·
Repeat for the right
circle.
·
Click on the circle
on the right.
·
Click the Left
Justify button and add the areas that are similar between the two topics. You may have to move and/or resize the
circle so that it appears in the common area of the two circles.
·
After you have
finished with each line of the common area, hit the tab key until the cursor is
on the right side of the circle. Add
the text that is unique to one topic.
Repeat.
·
Click on the circle
on the left.
·
Click the Left
Justify button and add the areas that are unique to the other topic.
