Footers & Columns
Headers and footers are used to insert
information that appears at the top or bottom of every page. It is often used to insert the author’s last
name and page number in research projects in MLA format.
· View ̃ Header and Footer
· Enter the information to appear in the header
· Click the Switch Between Header and Footer icon

Insert AutoText
· Click the Insert AutoText button and select the text to add

Insert Time
Insert Date
Format Page Number
Insert Number of Pages
Insert Page Number
Newspaper Columns
· Select the text
· Format ̃ Columns or click the Columns icon
·
Select the number of columns and the Width
and spacing
· Check the Line between box if you wish a line between column
· Put the cursor where you want the columns to end
· Format ̃ Columns or click the Columns icon
· Select one column
· Put the cursor where you want the column break
·
Insert ̃ Break ̃ Column Break
· Click OK
