Congratulations, Ms. Augustyn!

Our 7^th-8^th grade social studies teacher, Jill Augustyn is the recipient of a very esteemed award sponsored by the Kansas Department of Education. The Kansas Horizon Award program is to recognize exemplary first-year teachers who perform in a way that distinguishes them as outstanding. Ms. Augustyn was notified by Alexa Posny, Kansas State Commissioner of Education, with a personal phone call at school on January 15. The staff at CMS celebrated with Ms. Augustyn with a cake in her honor. Ms. Augustyn will travel to Topeka on February 22 to be officially recognized at a luncheon during the Kansas Exemplary Educators Network Conference.
